Anotace

This introductory undergraduate lecture course maps the key events of British history, from pre-Roman times to Brexit and its current aftermath. Each lecture will highlight historical developments that define the designated period, providing basic diachronic frameworks and critical resonances. Students are encouraged to follow the lecture series and familiarise themselves with the contextual background provided in order to complement and facilitate their further studies in literary and cultural history. A list of suggested secondary material is provided below. All lectures are in English.

Assessment:

Credits (4 ECTS, a final grade) are obtained by passing the final assignment on the dates advertised during each exam period. The final assignment is a short essay (800 words), submitted on Moodle by the specific exam date. Set assignment topics will be available on Moodle by the second week of the semester.
