OBJECTIVE AND MATERIAL
This one-semester course will examine the important English novels of Nabokov?Lolita, Pnin, Pale Fire and Ada, or Ardor: A Family Chronicle. Ghosting these will be readings from Nabokov?s memoir Speak, Memory, and in general one of the central themes of the course will be Nabokov?s oblique uses of autobiography. The course begins with latter and goes through the above novels chronologically.
ASSESSMENT
To receive a credit students will be expected to have 70% attendance and submit an essay of 3,000-4,000 words not later than one month after the completion of the course.
