Annotation

This course extends students’ knowledge of fundamental principles in quantitative research in applied linguistics. The course will lead students through the entire research process: students will learn to write a literature review, formulate research questions, select appropriate methods, and collect and analyse data.

Students will also learn elementary statistics and discover tools that will help them with their own research and data analyses. Upon a successful completion of the course, students will be able to design and carry out their own research projects.

A special emphasis will be placed on the quality and ethics of student research proposals. The course will be conducted in the English language.

Prerequisite: Quantitative Research in Applied Linguistics I.
