Summer School - Klosterneuburg (Austria)

Mon 25 - Fri 29 June 2018

This Summer School is designed for students who wish to acquire the skills necessary to make a digital scholarly edition. No prior knowledge of the technologies is required, but candidates are expected to have a particular interest in scholarly digital editing, for their own research or their professional projects.

The course will be a “flipped classroom” experience: before the Summer School, the students will be asked to follow an online course to acquire the theoretical foundation. The Summer School itself will consist in very practical sessions, combining exercises based on the theoretical course and conversations with leading international experts. Students are also encouraged to bring their own material for a prospective digital edition, and their questions.

The course will be hosted in the magnificent monastic library of Klosterneuburg, in the outskirts of Vienna in Austria. During our sessions, we will take advantage of the exceptional manuscript collections of the library.

The course is free for the selected candidates, and they will have their travel and accommodation funded. They are expected to bring their own laptop.
