The first half of the course introduces the lexical level in the description of English. It covers all basic areas of lexicology, with a focus on word formation and lexical semantics.
Special emphasis is placed on the practical application of the studied processes and relationships. The second half of the course focuses on syntax, addressing the syntax of non-finite verb forms, complex sentences, negation and word order.
The course includes presentations of relevant theoretical concepts, complemented by practical analyses and exercises.
