Phaleristics (Medals and Orders) - in the context of other auxiliary historical sciences and other scientific disciplines

Anotace

The lectures aim to acquaint students with Phaleristics (Medals and Orders) as auxiliary historical science in the

European context. The course is aimed at gaining general knowledge of phaleristics, its history, terminology, literature and sources. The cycle includes lectures on the overview of orders of the Habsburg monarchy and other

European orders. Emphasis is placed on linking phaleristics with other auxiliary historical sciences, but also with the history of art and vexillology - the science of flags. Attestation of the course is possible to complete the seminar paper and its short presentation during the second half of the summer semester, within the lectures.

Assessment methods and criteria: Attestation (exam) will be awarded for the elaboration of seminar work and its presentation associated with discussion and defense of the main theses.
