Anotace
The course will focus on reading of the Vedic (sometimes called also Old Indo-Aryan, or Old Indic) texts. Namely selected passages from the oldest of the Vedas, the Rig-Veda. The texts will be analysed primarily from the point of view of the historical phonology, morphological structure, etymology and stylistics. The analysis will be focused as well on the reconstruction of the texts in chronologically earlier stages (Proto-Indo-Iranian, resp. Proto-Indo-
European) of their evolution.
The course is intended for more advanced students, but any participants are welcomed.
