Izraelský badatel v oblasti holocaustu a konfliktů Dan Bar-On tvrdí, že jako protipól k dominantní sionistické identitě se v moderním Izraeli objevilo několik dalších jiných (the Others).

Rozdělil je na externí jiné (např. Arabové) a interní jiné, které ztělesňují Židé z diaspory, přeživší holocaustu, ortodoxní a "orientální" Židé (Mizrahim).

Kurz se skrze zkoumání pojmu jinakosti ve smyslu alterity zaměří na vytváření těchto skupinových identit a na jejich vývoj v interakci s většinovou společností.

Fenomén intersekcionality představující mnohonásobnou diskriminaci bude analyzován v kontextu probíhající polarizace izraelské společnosti.

Budou diskutovány reprezentace jiných v izraelském filmu a literatuře.

Součástí kurzu je promítání komentovaných ukázek ze současné izraelské kinematografie.

Zakončení: A) aktivní účast v diskusích 30%; B) prezentace ve třídě na vybrané téma 40%; C) písemný test nebo esej 30%.
