Annotation
Abstract: The seminar will focus on key cultural, artistic, philosophical and spiritual changes, movements and currents of ancient Greek and Roman literature from the archaic period to the beginning of Christianity. The aim of the course is to acquaint with the development of ancient literature on the basis of reading selected texts, representing a certain period and specific changes of cultural space.
The seminar will also focus on the archetypal motifs of Sumerian and Babylonian mythology, as well as on the connection between Greek and Roman culture and the culture and tradition of Judaism, early Christian and, finally, the tension between the western and eastern parts of the Roman Empire.
