The course is primarily intended for foreign students who come to the Faculty of Arts, Charles University for their semester / two-semester internship.
Abstract: The course focuses on the interpretation of selected literary texts in comparison with their film adaptations. Therefore, it follows not only the text itself, which will be analyzed from several perspectives (compositional and structural, character band, types of narrator, spacetime definition, metaphority, allegority and use of symbols , speech and language of the text, intertextual context, etc.), but also its film processing. Students will gain the opportunity to get acquainted with the concrete work in its two forms and to compare the work in perspective of film and literary aesthetics.
