Annotation
This course presents main literary isms in Danish literature in the twentieth century. The course should encourage the students to think of literature in a given social, historical and political context.
We focus primarilly on the development of Danish/Scandinavian Modernism and that is why we begin the the writings of Johannes V. Jensen.
We will, however, debate other significant literary poetics and styles, too, such as Realism of the 1930s, Postmodernism in 1990s and Neo-Realism around 2000. For the list of analysed works see Syllabus.
