Annotation
The seminar deals with the genesis of theoretical approaches to the restoration and conservation of artworks in the context of conservation in the Czech lands from the second half of the 19th century to the present day. Great emphasis is placed on the introduction of a set of survey and research methods (from the field of natural sciences, art history and other related disciplines) and their possible application in the restoration of specific artworks. The specifics of the so-called Czechoslovak, or Czech, school of restoration and other different approaches are traced through the analysis of specific restoration interventions.
