In the course students are going to be acquainted with the basic principles, features, and topics of ancient Egyptian art and iconography. The seminar will be structured into individual sections dealing with the basic principles of

Egyptian art, iconography of gods and other divine beings, meaning and symbolism of Egyptian temple and tomb structure and decoration, offering scenes, depistion of profane and ritual activities, etc. Separate classes will also concern use and symbolic meaning of materials (e.g. stones, wood, copper), colours and shapes. During the seminar the students wil be encouraged to present seminar lecture on different topics and discuss over the presented problems.
