Anotace
In this course, the students will learn how to carry out a thorough lexical semantic analysis. They will be introduced to the methodology and tools of the field. They will also discover the utility of this approach for the study of ancient
Egyptian and other ancient languages.
After the presentation of the theoretical and methodological basis in an interactive way, concrete applications will be proposed to the students. Step by step, they will learn how to define and handle a (large) corpus of texts and how to conduct their own lexical study. They will also be introduced to the sematic maps method. A special attention will be given to the way to conciliate a methodological frame coming from general linguistics with the specific features of Ancient Egyptian.
