Annotation
In the course, students are going to be acquainted with the basic principles, features, and topics of ancient
Egyptian art and iconography. The class will focus on the combination and arrangement of figures and the organization of large walls in temples and tombs. In the main time the lectures will train the students how to describe wall reliefs that contain different compositions in royal and private monuments. During the class the students will be introduced to the evolution of the royal reliefs and they will be encouraged to present seminar lecture on different topics and discuss over the presented problems.

Egyptian art and iconography in thematic context (from royal ideology to personal afterlife beliefs), Egyptian art and iconography in social context (from the supra-elites to scribal schools and graffiti).
V průběhu kurzu se studenti seznámí se základními principy, rysy a tématz staroegyptského umění a ikonografie.
Bude zaměřen na kombinaci a uspořádání postav a organizaci velkých nástěnných prostor v chrámech a hrobkách. Po většinu času budou studenti získávat zkušenosti s tím, jak popisovat nástěnné reliéfy z královských a nekrálovských památek, které obsahují rozličná vyobrazení. V průběhu kurzu bude studentům představen vývoj královských reliéfů. Studenti přednesou prezentaci a budou diskutovat o pojednávaných problémech.

Kurz bude vyučován v anglickém jazyce.
