Syllabus

1. Speech as the instrument of media strategy; speech as means of identification and self-identification; acknowledged and unacknowledged stylization of speech.

2. The issue of speech model; the effect of individual types of media broadcasts on the elocution of the broad public (news, discussions and debates, sports commentaries, entertainment).

3. The notions of "anchorman", domination of "broadcasts", "public", "personality of the anchorman".

4. Evaluation practice: analysis of authentic recordings from various types of broadcasts; analysis from the viewpoint of the demands placed on public elocution.

Annotation

The seminar deals with the speech in the media. Students acquire experience with the evaluation and analysis of various types of public elocution.
