Syllabus
Seminář bude rozdělen do tří bloků (každý přibližne o čtyřech týdnech):
A. úvod do problematiky antické filosofie (původ, periodizace, dochování, atd.); specifika práce s antickými prameny; alfabéta; základy jmenné flexe; pojmy filosofia, sofia, arché, aition, genesis, kosmos
B. jmenná flexe - pokračování, pojmy fysis, psyché, logos, mýthos, alétheia, fainomenon, doxa, areté, kalos, kalokagathia
C. sloveso "být"; sókratovská otázka "ti esti"; úvod do řecké ontologie; pojmy úsia, to ti én einai, idea, eidos
Annotation
The course introduces Greek philosophical terminology with respect to the basic concepts and thought patterns of the Western philosophical tradition. We will focus on the grammatical structure of Greek in view of its intentional use by ancient authors.
The introduction to “philosophical Greek” will be based on a number of concrete examples to show the variety of ways in which the relationship between language and thought is manifested in ancient texts.
