Anotace

Annotation

The course focuses on the social, economic and cultural history of the post WWII Czechoslovakia. It analyses especially the first fifteen post-war years, which are characteristic by the establishment and stabilisation of the socialist dictatorship. Addressed topics are: work and workers, fun, consumerism, criminality, and concepts of analyse of the socialist dictatorships.

The course is based on lectures and on independent work by students. Students are supposed to prove knowledge of chosen concepts and terms in the end-semester test. Literature, concepts and terms to be given during the whole semester.

Last classes are dedicated to the workshops with presentations of the students´ independent work and their discussions. According to the number of enrolled students, these presentations are individual/in couples/in groups. The topic of the presentation must concern the postwar history and must be consulted with the teacher at latest three weeks before the date of presentation. The semester is ended by the test.

In the case of the on-line form of the semester, the course will mix on-line lectures and the independent work with the given litterature on the given task.
