Annotation
Gregorian chant represents one of the cornerstones of European music. However, the chant repertoire is not only a significant musical phenomenon; it is also part of the common cultural identity of the Western European space. The aim of this lecture is to provide a comprehensive view of monodic liturgical chant, including the current state of scientific research. The lecture also includes musical examples and practical attempts to interpret Gregorian melodies by the participants.
