The course focuses on the concept of digital humanities, especially its contribution to social sciences, with special emphasis on book history. In addition to the recent critique of digital humanities, it focuses on the representation of knowledge and data from archives in the digital environment, relevant research infrastructures, digital methods and tools, as well as digital studies and computer interface issues.
It shows in what aspects are traditional research methods applied in book history surmounted by this concept and which traditional methods are still looking for their digital alternative.
