An introduction to book history. The course is prepared specially for students who are interested in book history.
We will focus on the main themes of book history - from the invention of printing ( the role of early printers, the spread of printing in Europe specially in Bohemia, the aesthetics of the prints) to modern book; the distrubution and reception of book, the history of libraries, the protection of historical book collections etc.
