Designed for students from 3rd year of undergraduate study cycle.
Recommended entry skills: the basics of HTML, the content of the course "Subject indexing of information and knowledge" or equivalent.
Description: The goal of this course is to establish, implement and maintain the portal (ie a gateway to information) relevant to the field of information science and librarianship in the Czech language version of Wikipedia in a way of collective work and collaboration. Students will be first introduced to the basic principles of work in Wikipedia, especially to the possibilities and pitfalls of working with its content (basic rules, tools, services, etc.), and the basics of working with markup language MediaWiki (formatting text, inserting and formatting images, files and links, creating tables, etc.). At the same time there will be a gradual realization and implementation of the portal in accordance with the degree of acquired knowledge and skills through ongoing implementation of practical tasks involving the creation and maintenance of selected sections of the portal and related content, too. The design and form of the sections of the portal can be inspired by similar portals in foreign language versions of Wikipedia or all existing portals in all language versions of Wikipedia - see e. g. the list of existing portals in the Czech language version of Wikipedia (http://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portál:Obsah).
