Contemporary Literary Theory and Criticism:

This course examines the history of literary theory and criticism from the late nineteenth century to the present. As we map significant changes in criticism and theory, we will also attend to the formation of literary criticism and theory as an institutional practice. Students will demonstrate their understanding of these theories by critically reading sample texts.
