Class at Faculty of Arts |
ANL200135

Annotation

In this course, students build on their knowledge of the basics of Dutch grammar and expand their vocabulary.

The goal to be achieved after the subsequent course in the summer semester is mastery of the Dutch language at B2 level according to the shared European Framework of Reference.

At the end of the course, students are expected to be able to understand the main idea of a complex text, both on concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their own field.

Furthermore, they should be able to react in a fluent and spontaneous way that allows for a normal exchange with native speakers without effort for either party.

They should also be able to produce a clear, detailed text on a wide range of topics and to express a view on a topical issue, setting out the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Their active vocabulary should amount to about 5000 words after the summer semester; their passive vocabulary to about 12000.
