Museums play an important role in the society they are bridging the past, the present and the future. They maintain a cultural continuity, strengthen the relationship between people and society to its own history and culture heritage.
They could be safe places for answering burning questions which resonate in the society and simultaneously places full of adventure or places for a break. Nowadays museums have to re-evaluate their approach to visitors in order to thrive.
In this seminar we will learn about fundamental museum functions, although we will focus more on the educational role, on visitors and on participative and interactive activities. The aim of the seminar is to present museums and their specific environment as well as to realize several projects in Antonín Dvořák Museum and in the Czech republic Police Museum utilising new media ideas.
