Annotation
We will explore changes brought by so-called pictorial turn into our societies, politics and identities. Seminars conducted on the Zoom platform (in case of mandatory distance learning) will deal with contemporary approaches to visual culture and will discuss ways they overlap with other fields and phenomena.
Together, we will dive into cybernetic hyperreality, pop culture and get insight into the role of pictures in our everyday lives as well as history of western culture. The aim of the course is to help students to think critically about contemporary visual culture.
