The course deals with synchronic comparative phonetics and phonology. It deals with universals and specifics in production, acoustics, and perception of speech, specifically in sound patterning (on phonemic and prosodic levels).
The seminar includes group analysis of selected problems based on listening, acoustics and work with language corpora.
