Annotation
The aim of this course is to introduce the religious scene of Korea through texts of Korean origin. We will work with texts which portray Korean mythology, diversity of religious traditions and the interaction among them. We will work with pre-modern Korean Buddhist and Confucian texts and texts which reflect these two traditions as well as folk religion. The Samguk yusa and Samguk sagi chronicles will be the central texts of the course.
