Children in Context of Criminal Justice
Semi-voluntary course for bachelor and master students

The course explores various positions children may have in context of criminal justice. It shows children as victims as well as offenders. It investigates the causes and consequences of criminal behavior in children, their families and natural environment. It also stresses roles of key social stakeholders in this field.
Students enrolled in this course come from three European countries – Belgium, Czech Republic and Latvia. Regarding such heterogenous auditorium the course aims to pinpoint not only the national features of the issue but also the international ones.
The course is built on two online lectures (Friday 18. 3., Tuesday 19. 4.) and a 3 days on site meeting in Leuven, Belgium (4-6 May). The associated costs must be covered by individual students.
