Social problems after WW2: The Czech Experience

The course is designed for students interested in selected social problems of the post-WWII world and the specific form these problems took in the social development of the Czech Republic. Therefore, the (ERASMUS) students who are interested in either social science or the post-WWII social development in the Czech Republic are welcome. The number of students in this course is limited to 16.

The course will have four main parts each consisting of two lectures on selected topic followed by discussion. Students will be encouraged to present their own ideas, experience, and papers during the classes. The respective social problems in question will be urbanization and the current urban problems (Mgr. Jan Sládek), crime and social deviation (Mgr. Zuzana Podaná), society and new media of communication (Mgr. Petr Lupač), and the environmental problems (Mgr. Jan Urban).
