Historical context: history of the Persian Empire under the Teispids and Achaemenids.

Gradual materialization of the inscription; placement of the inscription; the key role of the inscription in the decipherment of the cuneiform languages; ancient predecessors (mostly Elamite and Mesopotamian reliefs, monumental inscriptions, inscriptions with reliefs); comparision with the creation of another new scripts; a description of the historical situation and its credibility; king Dareios according of the ancient authors; figures on the relief; translation of the inscription into other languages.
