Sylabus
Náplň kurzu: Kurz se zaměřuje na testové úlohy zkoušky IELTS v oblasti reading, listening a writing a pracuje s následujícími tématy: language of change, reading and interpreting graphs and charts, descriptions - comparing and contrasting, argumentation and problem solutions, presenting an opinion, describing a process, advantages and disadvantages
V souvislosti s těmito tématy se průběžně opakují některé gramatické jevy: přítomný, předpřítomný, minulý a budoucí čas, spojovací výrazy - struktura věty, otázky, …(pouze okrajově, gramatika není hlavní náplní kurzu). přídavná jména, členy, způsobová slovesa, kolokace a frázová slovesa, nominalizace.
Atestace: Kurz je zakončen zápočtem, jehož podmínkou je aktivní účast na výuce a průběžná příprava na prezenční semináře, na konci semestru úspěšně složený zápočtový test, který bude sestaven na základě probraného učiva a bude zaměřen na testové úlohy zkoušky IELTS.
The contents of the course: The course focuses on the testing tasks of the Exam IELTS within the field of reading, listening and writing and works with the following topics: language of change, reading and interpreting graphs and charts, descriptions - comparing and cotnrasting, argumentation and problem solutions, opresenting an opinion, describing a process, advantages and disadvantages.
In connection with these topics it is also possible to revise some grammar: prezent, prezent perfekt, past and future tense, linking words - structure of the sentence, question, … (only additionally as grammar is not the main aim of the course).
Adjectives, articles, modal verbs, collocations and phrasal verbs, nominalization.
Attestation: The outcomes of the course are the appointed credit points. To pass successfully it is necessary to be actively present at the seminars, and prepare for the seminars throughout the whole semester, at the end of the semester there will be a final credit test based on the materials from the course and will focus on the testing tasks from the Exam IELTS.

Academic Skills in English (IELTS)
Kurz je jednosemestrální, 1x2 hod. týdně.
Cíl kurzu: Cílem kurzu je umožnit především těm studentům, kteří již absolvovali základní kurzy nejméně na úrovni středně pokročilé, rozšíření jejich znalostí zvláště v oblasti English for academic purposes. Pro tyto studenty a případně studenty v DS je vhodný jako jednosemestrální rychlé opakování a příprava ke zkoušce.
Program kurzu: Kurz je zaměřen na všechny čtyři dovednosti (reading, listening, writing, speaking) s výběrem témat a textových druhů v oblasti akademické angličtiny. Zaměření kurzu může být po domluvě přizpůsobeno studentům, kteří se do kurzu zapíší.
This is a one-semester course, 1x2 lessons a week.
The aim of the course: The course aims mainly at those students who have passed the basic courses, at least at the level of intermediate (English II) or have the appropriate English language knowledge, so that they can improve and broaden their English with the focus on the field of English for academic purposes. For those students or students in Doctoral Studie is suitable as a quick revision for the exam.
The programme of the course: The course focuses on all four skills (reading, listening, writing, speaking) with the choice of the topics and text sorts from the field of Academic English. The focus of the course can be adjusted to the students who will enroll in the course.

Aim of the Course: The course is aimed at those students who have successfully acquired the required knowledge of the units 1-9 of the book Ready for IELTS (in more detail see Angličtina I. and II. - Kurz pro mírně pokročilé and Kurz pro středně pokročilé).
Programme of the course: Units 10-14 of the coursebook McCarter, S., Ready for IELTS), Macmillan, 2010 v
