Syllabus
Seminar: 2h per week, minimal knowledge of English - B2
The course enables students to improve their Academic English on text regarding humanities, to understand and learn various structures of Academic English (linkers, collocation etc.).
The aim is also to practice note taking, writing a summary and an abstract. The student should be able to differentiate between main ideas and developping points, practicing scanning (skimming) a text.

Description of the course: this course enables students to orientate themselves better in Anglophone texts on various topics within the general concept of Humanities.
The aim: understand and learn different structures of academic English (special linkers, collocations etc.), including note taking, writing a summary and an abstract, differentiating between main ideas and supporting arguments (developping points), plus practicing scanning and skimming a text.
