The students will read closely ( one text per week) a chosen passage from the list below. They will be paying attention to style, theme and form.
The aim is to deepen their the linguistic, stylistic and literature knowledge, allowing them also to orient themselves in literary analysis.

Kurz umožní studentům lepší orientaci při práci s literárním textem a jeho interpretaci, tzv. "close reading".

Aim:
This course will cover a range of twentieth-century prose written in English. Each week we will look at a brief passage from a literary work and read it closely, paying attention to style, theme and form. The aim is to deepen the linguistic knowledge of students, allowing them also to orient themselves in literary analysis.
Materials will be distributed at the beginning of the seminar (no textbook needed)
