- the writing process and the pre-writing phase

- summarizing and paraphrasing

- paragraph structure

- introductions and conclusions

- academic vocabulary

- formal letters

- accuracy in writing

- political correctness

- writing abstracts

Annotation

The course is aimed at students on an intermediate level and above. It serves both as the preparation for the writing part of the B2 exam, Ielts or FCE exam as well as for further development of this crucial academic skill.

Through work with/on various types of academic texts different writing strategies will be explored, as well as the characteristic vocabulary, phraseology and grammar structures.

The focus is mainly on essays, formal letters, articles, summaries or abstracts.

This is a one-term course, taking place on a weekly basis.
