German. Touren durch die österreichisch/deutsch-tschechische Geschichte in Prag

Class at Faculty of Arts |
ASZNJ3930

Syllabus

At the beginning of the course the students will suggest topics and walking trails. (The teacher will, of course, help if there are no ideas. The topics relating to the students’ studying programmes are more than welcome.)

In the second week – i.e. on 3/3 – the first face-to-face lesson will take place in the room in Celetná: introduction and organization of the schedule.

During the following weeks the walks on different topics will take place. In case of bad weather, there will be an alternative lesson in the classroom in Celetná.

During the final 2 weeks the group will work on the online guidebook including all the walks and the course will be finished.

Annotation

The course “Walks around Prague tracking the Austrian/German-Czech history” is for those students whose knowledge is at the B1/B2 level and who are interested in shared history, architecture and topography of the city, who enjoy physical activities and would like to try non-traditional lessons. The course will be organized and led by an Austrian teacher.

The course will be realised in the form of commentated walks around those places that relate to Austrian/German-Czech history. The walks will take place mainly in the city centre and its closed surroundings, the meeting time will always be at around 4:20 p.m. (16:20) – so that there is enough time for everybody to reach the meeting point from all buildings of the Faculty of Arts. (Please, make sure you have time of approximately 90 minutes as the walks should last that long – the course is not, therefore, suitable for those students who have classes starting at 5:30 p.m. (17:30).) In case of really bad weather conditions, the lessons will take place in the classroom in Celetná (according to the schedule 3:50 – 5:20 pm (15:50 – 17:20), or in a different interior.

The 1st lesson will be on March 3rd.
