In this course we will work with materials covering the period of Russian history from the early 20th century to the present.
How Russia Walked into the 20th Century
The Last Romanov.
Russian-Japanese War 1904-1905.
The Revolution of 1917 and the Civil War.
Ukraine in the Civil War 1917-1922.
Soviet propaganda and Russian culture.
Lessons of Bolshevism to the World. Bolshevism, fascism, national socialism.
In addition to historical aspects, the course will include texts on the history of culture: art, architecture, literature.
Annotation
This course is designed for history students and students interested in history. In this course we will work with texts on Russian history taken from the historical, journalistic and linguistic works of historians, linguists and writers.
The course will be based on two principles: historical-chronological and content-thematic.
