Syllabus

In this course we will work with materials covering the period of Russian history from the early 20th century to the present.

The main topics:

'Russia is at a turning point'.

''Late 19th Century - Early 20th Century''

''The Revolution of 1917'', ''Stalinist Repression''

''The Great Patriotic War''

''The Dissident Movement in the Soviet Union''

''The Dissolution of the Soviet Union''

In addition to historical aspects, the course will include texts on cultural history: art, architecture, literature.

Annotation

This course focuses on Russian history from the early 20th century to the present.

It is intended not only for students of history, but for all students interested in Russian history.

The prerequisite for participation in the course is an active knowledge of the Russian language at B1 level.

In this course we will work with texts on Russian history taken from the works of historians, linguists and writers. We will work with topics related to the current situation in Ukraine and Russia, as well as topics related to historical events preceding this situation.

The course will be based on two principles: historical-chronological and thematic.
