Annotation

Physiology is read in the winter and summer semesters in the 2nd year of studies. The lectures in the winter semester include physiology of the cell, general neurophysiology including physiology of muscles, blood, circulatory, respiratory and digestive systems.

In the summer semester, regulation in which kidneys, the endocrine system and central nervous system take part are dealt with. Practical instruction is aimed at verification of theoretical knowledge and at training certain skills through investigation of some functions of the human organism and their regulatory mechanisms as well as through experiments on animals.

Computer models complement the instruction. The conditions for gaining the credits in either semester include active work in particular practicals, an essay on some of the regulatory mechanisms of the organism and a successful outcome of the credit test. The exam in physiology consists of the written part (entrance test) and the oral part - one question concerns the matter of the practicals, while the other three (one of them being always from neurophysiology) deal with particular theoretical problems.
