Annotation

The aim of this course is to familiarize the students with the field of neuropsychology. This field and its place in healthcare will be presented to the students along with the expertise of a psychologist/clinical psychologist/neuropsychologist including the possibility of cooperation with other team members.

The course will be focused on the specifics of stroke and traumatic brain injury. Other discussed topics will be the mild cognitive impairment and dementia - its recognition and how to take care of clients with this type of disease.

The students will also be informed about the psychopathology of Huntington's and Parkinson's disease, which they may encounter in their profession. In order to acquire basic knowledge of how drugs affecting the mental activity of a person, the course will end with a lecture on psychopharmacology.

The exact concept of the lectures can be adjusted according to the actual demands of the students.
