Výuka navazuje na předmět Radiodiagnostika a Nukleární medicína. Je zaměřena na praktickou výuku při interpretaci normálních a patologických obrazů v radiodiagnostice (radiologii) a nukleární medicíně a na správnou indikaci rentgenových i nerentgenových zobrazovacích metod.

Jednotlivé hodiny jsou věnovány těmto oblastem a systémům: hrudník, srdce a cévy, retroperitoneum, zažívací trakt, skelet (včetně traumatologie), vývodné močové cesty, játra, žluční a žlučové cesty, pankreas, prs, nervový systém.
