Syllabus of professional practice
The aim of the practice for the student is to know 1) the issue of community care from the point of view of providing long-term care for the elderly and people with medical and/or mental disabilities who are at risk or lose self-sufficiency and are dependent on the help of another person 2) issues of continuity or concurrence of health and social care, forms of health and social services provided in the community, relevant legislation. 3) the mission, organization and services of facilities that provide professional assistance to the above-mentioned clients (e.g. home care agencies, day care centers for the elderly, day care centers for people with dementia, homes with a special regime, hospices, homes for the elderly, treatment centers for the long-term sick , welfare beds and follow-up care beds, social welfare institutions, etc.)
Professional practice is part of Introduction to Clinical Medicine (ICM) in the 1st year. It is provided in community care facilities throughout the academic year and follows the theoretical and practical lessons of the ICM.
It is focused on the general issue of healthcare. The aim of the professional practice is to gain knowledges end experiences in community care, providing long-term care of the elderly and people with medical and/or mental disabilities.
They are dependent on the help of another person. Students will become familiar with the issue of continuity or concurrence of health and social care, forms of health and social services provided in the community.
