In the subject of General pharmacology (in winter semester of the 3rd section of study) there are taught essentials of pharmacodynamics (e.g. interactions of drugs with receptors, molecular targets for drug action), fundamentals of pharmacokinetics (e.g. the half-life and its uses), drug interactions, introduction to clinical trials of drugs, adverse drug reactions, etc. Students are also taught pharmacology of autonomous system, pharmacology of most important neurotransmitter systems, pharmacology of enzymes and of transport proteins and a prescription writing.
