Syllabus

1. structure of monoclonal antibodies and the methodology and history of the preparation of cell hybridomas, mouse, human and chimeric and recombinant antibodies.

2. CD system and differentiation molecules of leukocytes, membrane phenotypes of immunocompetent and hematopoietic cells detected by monoclonal antibodies

3. use of monoclonal antibodies in immunology, immunoanalysis, hematology and virology, immunodiagnosis of blood and immune disorders

4. antigens and antibodies used in the therapy of leukemias, lymphomas and other malignant diseases

5. outline of currently approved therapeutic monoclonal antibodies, antibodies in clinical studies and mechanisms of their therapeutic effect

6. therapeutic cytokines, their use in hematology, immunology and neurology, interferons, interleukines and their history

7. perspectives of the broad based targeted therapy of malignant tumors, leukemias, lymphomas and autoimmune disorders, discussion on the particular items, practical demonstrations

Annotation

Compulsory optional course designated for 3rd and 4th year of medical study. It presents biochemistry and immunochemistry of monoclonal antibodies, methodology of hybridoma construction, diagnostic and therapeutic use in immunology, hematology, virology and in the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases.
