Relationships between Brain and Behaviour

Syllabus

14 lectures on brain and behavior discuss key research directions and problems of contemporary cognitive and affective neuroscience included boundary problems of neighbouring branches.

The lectures are: historical introduction, memory, sensory systems, language, consciousness, attention, movement and praxis, laterality, executive systems od frontal lobes, emotivity, social relations incl economic, moral and aesthetic decisions, the Self, agression, violence and psychopathy, neurobiology of dementia, racionality and irrationality.

The aim of the class is an insight into contemporary cognitive and affective neuroscience, its methods and development. This class si the 8th up-dated version (first version 1996).

The class is open to all interested people. Every year come students of philosophy, maths, natural sciences and humanities of the Charles University, Prague
