Introduction.
Monitoring of environmental health.
Trace elements, monitoring of exposure, interpretation.
Genotoxic and carcinogeni factors in the environment.
Nutrtion toxicology.
Persistent chlorinated organic compounds in the environment and their health risks.
The aim is to discuss the following themes: (1) Can the environmental factors influence the population health? If yes, what is the intensity and mechanisms. (2)Problems of complex mixtures of chemical contaminants in environmental media (air, water, soin, food chaines). (3) Should the population be afraid of chemicals in the environment? (4) what should know the medical doctor about the health risks of environmental contaminants? What tools we have to monitor population exposure to chemicals? (5) Human biomonitoring. (6) What are the possibilities of regulation and prevention and how to control their efficacy. (7) What is the difference between the individual and population health. (8) Aproaches and activities of the Czech government in the field of environmental health.
