The syllabus of the course Psychology and Communication is based on the bio-psycho-social model of health and illness. The graduate will acquire important knowledge and practical communication skills in the field of psychology, which are the basis of a professional and at the same time human approach to the performance of one's profession. At the same time, the graduate will learn to take care of his own mental health so that he can use preventive strategies in practice both for coping with stress and against burnout syndrome. The graduate learns to distinguish different attitudes of clients or patients towards illness and care for their own health and can derive appropriate communication strategies based on knowledge of the factors that influence the patient's management of the disease. They will learn to communicate in specific situations (patients with pain, depression, anxiety, cognitive disorders and with various distinct personality traits). Graduates will learn to overcome non-cooperation and motivate clients or patients to change inappropriate habits. The basic principle of practical teaching is interactivity and the inclusion of video demonstrations of communication procedures.
