Annotation

Clinical practice lasts 4 weeks before the state exam on gynaecology and obstetrics. The aim is to apply student´s theoretical knowledge from previous years during work at the department. We emphasize the clinical work is the method of education, not lectures or seminars. On the first day of the clinical practice all students are asked to come and meet Dr. Popelka at the lecture-room of Dept. of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of University Hospital Kralovske Vinohrady (FNKV) at 8.00 a.m. The students will be divided into 2 groups - the first group will spend the stay in FNKV, the second group in UPMD (Podoli).

During the stay you will follow the doctors at the OB/GYN wards - you should participate on the work with patients - participate on morning rounds, grand rounds with senior doctors, assist at operating rooms and delivery rooms, to observe at outpatient dept. (gynaecological examination, prenatal care, ultrasonography).

You will pass the final test during the last week of the stay to obtain the credit and be able to register for state exam. The term of the test will be announced during the clinical stay. You can register for the test and state exam via SIS only.

It is required to wear white coat, trousers, shoes and student´s identity card during the clinical stay.
