Nursing process as a method to provide care, history of nursing process, stages of nursing process

Patients needs assessment, data gathering, methods of assessment and the commonly used instruments, clustering of the information

Nursing diagnosis statement, prioritizing the nursing diagnose, acute and potential diagnose, NANDA classification.

Nursing care planning, formulating nursing goals and patient outcomes, planning nursing interventions

Implementation of nursing care plan, work organization, delegation

Evaluation of nursing care, evaluation of goals, revision of nursing care plan

Annotation

The subject is taught in the third year of the part-time program of Nursing, the Healthcare sciences, follows up on the subjects Nursing, Nursing III and Nursing IV. It covers the history and current situation in implementing nursing process and its parts: assessment, defining nursing diagnosis, planning of care, implementation and evaluation of the care provided.

The subject stresses the active role of nurses in providing care to patients as well as integration of knowledge and skills learned in other subjects.
