Class at Third Faculty of Medicine |
CMCP0334

Syllabus

The anatomicaly substantiated topical diagnostics is the basis for localization of lesions of the brain, spinal cord, the peripheral neuron, and of muscular, joint or vertebrogenic lesions.

Neurological diagnostics need to consider also a possible presence of other speciality diseases - most importantly those of internal medicine - which affect the nervous system. Also traumatic and other physical influences (e.g. radiation) should be taken into account.

The cerebrovascular field is linked with consequences of atherosclerosis, the inflam-matory diseases with basic knowledge of Cerebrospinal fluid data, disturbances of conscious-ness with knowledge of EEG, neuromuscular diseases need good orientation in EMG, dementia and higher nervous activity disturbances are completed with neuropsychology. Neurooncology and vertebrogenic disorders are supported by an expertise in neuroradiologic imaging. In all steps of this study the relation of a proper history taking and analysis with results of an objective examination and ancilliary methods is permanently stressed.
